It’s that time again. One of the best times of the year. Is it Christmas? Is it our birthday? Is it vacation week? NOPE! It’s the #NSALE! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
This is the annual sale when Nordstrom drops prices on new merchandise by as much as 40%! It’s the time to stock up and save big on items that are rarely discounted. You’ve got to hurry, though! Prices go up on August 7th!
It may sound crazy, but we strategize on how to navigate the sale. We have some useful tips and things to consider before you do your shopping:
~Inventory: Go through your closet, kid(s) closets, spouse’s closet, etc., to figure out exactly what you NEED. With sale prices, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the moment and overspend. If there are items you know you want and/or need, now is the time to buy them. Most of these items will not be discounted again – like, booties, designer jeans, handbags, etc.
~Back-To-School: Make a list of the big ticket necessities that you can get on sale; jackets, sneakers, boots, etc.
~Holiday: Start your holiday shopping now! You can buy amazing gifts at a fraction of the price. Bonus: you don’t have to cram all your shopping & spending into November/December! Make that list now, before you head to the store!
We’ve linked a few of our favorite pieces below:
Women- These are pieces that we will want for going into fall and because they are on such a deep sale, it makes the most sense to buy now.
We try to find necessary items that our kids need year after year– they grow SOOOO fast! When buying a higher quality item like a coat or boots, we will sometimes size up so that they can get a few years out of the piece. As a bonus, these pieces are “hand-me-downable”!
Home/Gifts – This is a great time to buy gifts and put them away until the holidays. We look for items that we know are deeply discounted probably won’t be again. Think of major brands like Ugg, Tumi, fragrances, cosmetics, etc.
We’d love to know your favorite picks! Comment and let us know what you had to have! 🙂
p.s.- To gain early access to the #NSALE, you have to be a Nordstrom credit card holder. However, you can pay with any form of payment! You do NOT have to use the store card to pay for your purchases.
