Let it “B”

Let it “B”

Father’s Day is right around the corner and we have some great gift ideas on how to “B” ready for Father’s Day! Don’t forget to check out our segment on Better Connecticut to see them all!

Bourbon, Beer, Business & BBQ~

Father’s Day is an occasion to mark and celebrate the contribution that your father has made to your life and the contribution your husband has made to your children’s lives.  If your father/husband is anything like ours, he is the unsung hero of the house and his contribution is not recognized nearly enough.  Let’s make this Father’s Day one he will remember!

Select his favorite Bourbon and pair it with the perfect sipping glass such are these  Direction glasses from Crate & Barrel. If he is new to Bourbon tasting, or looking to learn more, a guide to Bourbon such as this one also from Crate and Barrel  American: Whiskeys, Bourbon and Rye Book is a great reference book for the connoisseur. Don’t forget the perfect spherical ice-molds from Tovolo to evenly and slowly cool his drink without watering it down.

Plan a Father’s Day local brewery tour! Grab a few of his best buddies and  secretly plan a day for them to travel around and check out local breweries. Arrange for drivers, lunch and schedule the tours for them! All they have to do  is show up & taste beer!

You can create a map of the local breweries they will be traveling to and provide an itinerary. You can wrap this up as the gift or give him a beer-themed gift, as seen below, to surprise him!

This DropCatch bottle opener is a great addition for the beer lover in your life.  It catches up to 70 bottle caps!

A personalized craft beer glass, like this one, can be found at Things Remembered and can be monogrammed in the same day!

This is the time of year when BBQs & burgers are a plenty! We put together a Burger Package; including Williams-Sonoma burger press, burger papers and burger rub! Throw in this cookbook, Burger Night, and he’ll have everything he needs to make the best burger ever!

A BBQ isn’t complete without some outdoor lawn games.  An unfinished corn hole board, either painted by you, or by your guy is a great game to play during cookouts and if DIY is his thing, it gives him a fun project!  You can find unfinished corn hole boards here or here.

Homemade gifts are always fun and well received.  Take the kids to your local paint pottery studio and have them paint a business card holder, frame, coffee mug or anything else that can be used or displayed at work.

Does your father/husband travel? This travel valet is the perfect accessory for business trips. It folds flat, then snaps together to catch all his personal items in the hotel room; watch, phone, keys, etc. No more running around at the last minute to make sure he’s gathered everything from around his room!

Hi! Thanks for sharing these great ideas. Would you be willing to share the brewery tour schedule/itinerary you put together? I saw that you had a copy of it during the wfsb segment and hoped you would include a sample or PDF on your website. Thanks for your consideration.
