This week’s Monday Muse, Photographer Ray Lamoureux, is not only super talented but also the husband of one PGG!
As a student of art, painting was his primary medium until the chaos of everyday life and his main career in the corporate world made it difficult to find time to paint. Taking a different approach to creating art, Lamoureux has been bringing light to breathtaking vistas and scenes through the lens of his camera.
Inspired by the dramatic lighting and coastal themes of Edward Hopper, the isolated subject matter and stark composition of Andrew Wyeth, and the animated story-telling of Norman Rockwell, Lamoureux has managed to blend his painting roots and style into his photography today.
Named the Greater Hartford Arts Council “Artist of the Year” in 2015, Lamoureux’s work has been featured in galleries and exhibits around the state of Connecticut.
