Spring break Staycation Mom Hacks

Watch our Spring Break Staycation Mom Hacks on Better CT!

April break for schools is just around the corner! Ideally, we all wish we could be packing up our kids and heading somewhere fun, warm, or with perfect ski conditions. Obviously, with work schedules, financial constraints and logistics, that perfect April vacation is not always a reality.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with a good stay-cation! We have some fun, inexpensive & kid-approved ideas to do as a family or with a group of other parents and kids, without the chaos of those overcrowded trampoline parks, museums & gaming venues.

Think Spring!

Plan a spring-themed party/luau. Be sure to include games, crafts and quick & easy snacks:

Games

  • Move the Balloon (using squirt guns, who can spray the balloon off the end of the table first.)
  • Limbo contest (keep it simple – use a broomstick!)
  • Hula Hoops; contest/ball toss

Crafts

  • Paint splatter; mini planter pots & plastic sand pails
  • Seed planting
  • Fairy gardens (using planters & figures from craft store)

Snacks:

  • Make your own sundaes/yogurt parfaits
  • Kid-friendly fruit skewers
