You  Can’t Hurry Love (but you can hurry these Valentine’s crafts & snacks!)

Valentine’s Day is two days away!  Here we bring to you some very last minute, super easy crafts and snacks.  We love crafts that require minimal involvement from the parents.  We also love snacks that are festive, healthy, yet satisfy a sweet tooth.  Here are some of our easiest favorites:


Valentine’s Day Sensory Jar

Items Needed:

  • Mason jar or any type of plastic bottle (water bottle, baby food jar, etc.)
  • Glitter Glue
  • Glitter
  • Water


  1. Add glitter glue to empty jar
  2. Add glitter to the jar
  3. Fill jar with warm water.
  4. Screw on the lid
  5. Shake until glue is dissolved and enjoy

Heart Wreath

Items Needed:

  • Foam Board/Poster Board
  • Red, pink & white construction paper
  • Heart stickers
  • Glue
  • String/ribbon


  1. Using a large glass bowl, trace a circle on your foam board or poster board

2. Using a smaller glass bowl, trace a smaller circle inside the large circle to create the base of your wreath

3. Punch two small holes in the top of the wreath

4. Attach string/ribbon for hanging

5. Add heart stickers/felt heart or cut out hearts from construction paper with glue

6. Hang your wreath and admire your work


Fizzing Hearts

Items Needed:

  • Watercolor paper
  • Food coloring
  • Baking soda
  • Medicine dropper
  • Vinegar
  • Baking sheet
  • Muffin tray
  • Aluminum foil


  1. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil
  2. Cut heart shapes out of water color paper
  3. Lay heart shapes on baking sheet
  4. Spoon baking soda onto heart shapes

5. In the muffin tins, pour vinegar into each space

6. Add food coloring to vinegar

7. Using a spoon or medicine dropper, fill with vinegar/food coloring mixture and drop onto baking soda

8. Once finished, shake off any excess baking soda and allow to dry

7.  Use hearts in Valentine’s Day cards or create a poster with all of your creations

Heart Monster

Items Needed:

  • Red Construction Paper
  • Wooden Clothes Pin
  • Glue
  • Marker


  1. Make a heart shape out of construction paper
  2. Cut out heart shape

3. Draw a zig-zag line in the middle of the paper and cut out

4. Add eyes

5. Glue heart onto clothes pin

Trail Mix Treat


  • Annie’s bunnies (honey, chocolate chip)
  • Trader Joe’s O’s
  • Pretzels
  • Yogurt covered raisins
  • Animal crackers
  • Valentine’s candies (we used m&m’s & Unreal chocolate candies)
  • Valentine’s Day plastic baggies


In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients.  We used a cup of each item.  Use more or less as desired.  If giving as a treat to friends, pour some of the trail mix into a Valentine’s Day-themed goodie bag.

Valentine’s Day Skewers


  • Strawberries
  • Red Grapes
  • Skewers
  • Heart Shaped Marshmallows
  • Rolos


  1. Trim the strawberries
  2. Add fruit and marshmallows to the skewers in any order you like
  3. Finish the skewer with a Rolo (which also covers the point on the skewer…win win!).
  4. Enjoy
